Dear Pied People
and those of you somehow touched by Pied
I have been thinking about us.
Today I was dansing in the kitchen while waiting for the morning coffee to drip. Nadine asked, « What are you thinking? ». It was music of course. I remember performing Rick's tune « O Lord Pardon Me » On stage there was the mime of rolling and smoking the gigantic spliff, , ,and the point in the tune where everything and everyone would explode into howling chaos. What fun for everyone! I was dancing that chaos. And I thought, if that were today, people would be videoing us on their sell phones and posting us on their Youtoobs and weed have been world famous in a week. Now-a-days no one can really believe our past without having had the experience. Are you experienced? . . .indeed, a question of a generation. So I proposed to meself to oneday research the archives for a video of that tune, and then find a ol Beta machine to transfer it to digital and viola! Proof of the footprint in the sand for all to see. But wait! I seem to recall a gig back in the Russian Hall back
in the 70's. And I recall that that particular moment was so powerful that the actual camera goes berserk and starts filming the ceiling and feet and. . .moving at such a pace as to record . . .a blur. Will anyone ever get the picture? Likely not. But I will be putting more videos on the web and will be in touch when they are up there.
